December 31st - New Year, New Look

Now posting in the new year.  I changed the look of the blog.  Let me know if it works for you.

One of the activities in Geocaching that will give you a virtual sticker in you account, it to find a cache on New Years Eve or New Years day or both.  We did this last year and decided to do it again.

We picked two relatively simple finds in El Centro.

GC2XGPW  Mac 'N' Cache was outside the local MacDonald's, and
GC1MJQJ    Knock is Sizzlin' #5 outside of Sizzler.

Mischief managed.

December 31st and January 1st - Geocaching

We found we could get digital stickers for years end and years beginning by getting finds on the two days.  Laurie and I got a rather quick find in a shopping center parking lot on the 31st.  The next day, slightly hung over because of Shandy, we gathered with Laurie's sister and did a series of caches situated along a wall running down Mission Gorge Blvd in Santee.  The series is named SUC for Santee Urban Caches.  It was fun, some of the hides were pretty inventive.  We got a few of them.  And we satisfied the requirement for our Years beginning 2016 sticker.

December 31st - New Years Eve.

Late post. Hah! late and out of order.  Who cares?

New Years eve, our friend and new wife, Shandy called us and invited us to party on NYEve.  The location was a little place in Lakeside called Eastbound.  They were having a costume night with the theme being 80s high school prom.

We were expecting the group to be Shandy and her husband and the two of us.  We got there ahead of her and met two ladies who were also waiting for her.  Shandy showed up with a girl friend, and the group was the five women and myself.

Eastbound offers a number of local craft brews and appetizers.  There was a DJ playing 80s music and the servers were all dressed up.  We felt the garb was more like 80s MTV videos rather than what they wore in high school, especially to prom, but it was fun and we had a great time.

Out with the old, and in with the new. 2015

Goodbye to you,2015.  You were quite a year as years go. Okay, I'm done with that.  haha.

Here's where we are.  I'm so glad to have people in my life who actually are interested enough to read my ramblings.   We have left Fargo and landed firmly in Santee, Ca.  I should now begin to have time to continue blogging and get caught up and move on with our life's adventure.

Coming posts have mainly to do with having fun with our grandkids and our holiday celebrations.

Speaking of holiday celebrations, you all have a great time tonight and remember all your friends and family. We'll see you on the other side as we begin 2016.

A final few words. Happy birthday to Nancy Hume, Cyndi Duncan, and Brianne Berg who are all celebrating their birthdays today.  Also A huge Happy Birthday to my cousin Rose Dernoncourt who gets to mark off another year of experience tomorrow as the year begins.

Well, that's all for now. Merry New Year, the bells come off the shoes at midnight.  Have a great night.
