September 26th - Eureka Slough

The town of Eureka sits on an outcropping surrounded by Eureka Bay to the north and west, and the Eureka slough north east.  The city has built a walk and bike path that encircles the entire town.  Much of it is across the water.  Part of it is the boardwalk where the historic fishing industry happened.  Our campground is right on the slough and the walk begins there.

I took my bike and made a short ride across the slough taking pictures.  Great old buildings and there are stops for rest with plaques telling about the wildlife and development here.

Fantastic old building. What's it's history?
